Ramadan, do not depart, for the soul is thirsty,

Longing for your healing balm, and wracked with anguish.

If you depart, sins will stretch out their arms,

And patience will grow stagnant, and dreams will take their own lives.

And the white words will fall dead,

And Eid will come, with neither clear skies nor rain.

And how can we open our hearts to joy,

Dead as they are, while our unity lies dying of discord?
