أحِنُّ إلى رحابكَ يا إلهي

لأطفئ من معين رضاك آهي

I yearn for Your spacious courts, O my God,

I yearn for your vastness, my God

To quench my sigh with water from the wellspring of Your pleasure.

To quench my sighs from your spring of contentment

أتيتُ إليكَ أوْعيَتي خواءٌ

أتيتُ إليكَ أوْعيَتي خواءٌ

وقلبي عن دروب الخيرِ لاهِ

وقلبي عن دروب الخيرِ لاهِ

I have come to You with my vessels empty,

I came to you with empty vessels

And my heart heedless of the paths of goodness.

And a heart astray from the path of goodness

أزاحم للوصول بغير زادٍ

أزاحم للوصول بغير زادٍ

سوى خيْطٍ من الإيمان واهِ

سوى خيْطٍ من الإيمان واهِ

I jostle to arrive, without provisions,

I strive to reach you with no provision

Except a frail thread of faith,

But a thread of faith, sighs

وتوبةِ مخلصٍ ورجاء عبدٍ

وتوبةِ مخلصٍ ورجاء عبدٍ

تَحَصَّن بالأوامر والنواهي

تَحَصَّن بالأوامر والنواهي

And the repentance of one sincere, and the hope of a servant

And the repentance of a sincere soul

Who has fortified himself with the commands and prohibitions.
