1. بدائعُ الألحانِ والأوزانِ

    ورائقُ المدائحِ الحِسانِ

    The marvels of melodies and meters,

    And the choicest of beautiful praises,

  2. أهديتُها للمالكِ الجليلِ

    ومن ربا في المجدِ والتبجيل

    I have dedicated them to the august lord,

    And to him who has risen in glory and veneration:

  3. حلفِ التقى والعلمِ والديانه

    والعدلِ والحلمِ مع الصيانَه

    An ally of piety, learning, and religious devotion,

    And of justice and forbearance, with integrity;

  4. سِبطِ الرسولِ الهاشمي العدنان

    أميرنا ذي الفضلِ والإحسان

    Scion of the Messenger, the Hashimite of Adnan’s line,

    Our emir, possessed of excellence and beneficence,

  5. نديِّ راحةٍ كريمِ الكفِّ

    زهي أخلاقٍ زكيِّ الوصفِ

    Dewy-palmed, generous of hand,

    Splendid in character, pure in qualities,

  6. خدن المعالي والمعاني الرائقه

    وشيمٍ بين الأنام فائقه

    A companion of lofty virtues and pleasing meanings,

    And of traits preeminent among humankind;

  7. يغضي حياءً عن وفاءٍ وذِمَم

    يعفو مع القُدرةِ عن محضِ الكرم

    He lowers his gaze in modesty, out of loyalty and a sense of duty;

    He pardons despite having power, out of pure generosity.

  8. رفيع جاهٍ دامَ في عز يزيد

    وفي هناءٍ كاملٍ وافٍ مديد

    Exalted in rank—may he remain in ever-growing glory,

    And in perfect, full, enduring happiness.
