وأقسم لولا من بسرهما سما

لما سمكوا سمكاً ولا أصلوا أصلا

And I swear: were it not for him who rose high through the secret of them both,

I swear, if it were not for the One who delighted them,

They would have raised no lofty structure, nor laid any foundation.

They would not have become fish, nor originated at all.

So may God, the Guardian, prolong the life of the one

So O God's eternal, overwheliming life, the life of one

Who built it; and may He exalt his rank through what he raised.

Who built it, and elevated its value through the Most High.

بناه فسواه فأتقن صنعه

بأحسن إبداع به بهر العقلا

بأحسن إبداع به بهر العقلا

He built it, fashioned it, and perfected its workmanship

He built it, then balanced it, and perfected His workmanship

With the finest artistry, through which he dazzled the wise.

With the best creativity - the mind is dazzled by Him.

ففات الطباق السبع فخراً وكيف لا

ففات الطباق السبع فخراً وكيف لا

وأنجمه ليل الضلال بها تجلى

وأنجمه ليل الضلال بها تجلى

Thus it surpassed the seven heavens in glory—and how could it not,

It surpassed the seven layers of heaven, proudly - and how could it not,

When its stars dispelled the night of error?

When its stars in the night of misguidance illuminate?

فقلت وقد تم البناء مؤرخاً
