بَكِّرْ بتبشير البلاد وأهلها

بالكابر الميمون من آمالها

Be early in bringing glad tidings to the land and her people

of the great, auspicious one among her hopes,

بالبَرِّ من أبنائها بالطهر من

أغصانها بالحر من أشبالها

of the dutiful one among her sons, of the pure one among

her branches, of the noble one among her lion cubs,

بأميرها المفديِّ بالنجم الذي

ترعاه مصر في سماء جلالها

of her prince, for whom lives are offered, of the star that

Egypt watches over in the sky of her majesty.

في كل ناد مهرجان حافل

بولائها ومظاهر استدلالها

In every gathering is a festival brimming

with her loyalty and the outward proofs she offers.

فاروق باللقب المقدس جئتها

في عز رايتها وسعد هلالها

Farouk, you came to her bearing the sacred title,

amid the glory of her banner and the good fortune of her crescent.

ترجو وترقب منك في أرجائها

ما خلَّد الماضون من أبطالها

Throughout her lands, she hopes for and awaits from you

what her heroes of old made everlasting.

في المهد أنت الآن مطلع على

جاري مسائلها وسائر حالها

In the cradle, you are now acquainted with

her current affairs and every aspect of her condition.

بدت الشمائل في مخايلك التي

تغري ذوي الآمال باستعجالها

Noble traits have appeared in your promising features, which

entice those with hopes to hasten their fulfillment.

أقبلت والأيام موفية كما

يرجو أبوك ومصر في إقبالها

You have arrived, and the days fulfill their promise, as

your father and Egypt hope amid her prosperity.

كملت بك الدنيا له وتكفلت

بدوامها الأقدار بعد كمالها

Through you his world became complete, and a pledge was made

by the fates for its continuance after its completion.

يلقى رسائل كل مملكة فمن

معتزها زاهي ومن مختالها

He receives messages from every kingdom, and stands among

her proud ones, radiant, among those who glory in her.

فياحة بالتهنئات قصوره

وحياضه فياضة بنوالها

His palaces are fragrant with congratulations,

and his pools overflow with their bounty.

شملت مراحمه السجين سماحة

وكرامة لك والغريب الوالها

His mercies embraced the prisoner, in generosity

and in your honor, and the anguished stranger.

والسلم تحت روائه والشعب في

أمتاعه بظلاله وظلالها

And peace lies beneath his splendor, and the people share

the enjoyment he grants through his shade and hers.

ولدت لأمته بمولدك المنى

ورأت أريكته عظيم منالها

With your birth, hopes were born for his nation,

and his throne beheld its great fulfillment.

فعلى منابرها سلام حصونها

وعلى مآذنها هتاف جبالها

So on her pulpits sounds the salute of her fortresses,

and on her minarets, the acclaim of her mountains.

برت بمصر أبوة لك سمحة

في بدئها وإليك حسن مآلها

The gracious fatherhood you enjoy has been kind to Egypt

from its beginning; to you falls its happy outcome.

في بشر وجهك طلعة الآمال في

حرية الأوطان واستقلالها

In the gladness of your face is the dawn of hopes for

the freedom of the homelands and their independence.

لبني عليٍّ تاجها ولوواؤها

وهمُ ضمان كيانها وجمالها

To the sons of Ali belong her crown and her banner,

and they guarantee her existence and her beauty.

أهوال هذي الأرض سائرة وفي

غدك المبارك منتهى أهوالها

The terrors of this land continue, and in

your blessed tomorrow lies the end of her terrors.

والناس في أخلاقهم مرضى وما

يشفيهم منها سوى استبدالها

People are sick in their morals, and nothing

cures them of these but replacing those morals.

وحراسة الأقدار ذاهبة بها

ما دامت الحراس من أغوالها

And the guardianship of destinies brings her to ruin,

as long as the guards are among her ghouls.

لا تكبر الأوطان ذا مال وذا

جاه إذا لم يبق من عمالها

Nations do not exalt a man of wealth or a man of

rank unless he remains among their servants,

للعادل المقضي من أحكامها

والطائل المحدود من آجالها

for the just decrees of their judgments

and the long yet bounded span of their lives.

فاحفظ مكارم مصر في جاراتها

واحرس مرافق مصر في أمثالها

So preserve Egypt's noble virtues among her neighbors,

and safeguard Egypt's interests among her peers.
