You have dishonored your kind father, the one who showed tenderness

toward you and gave you what you ask for.

And you claim that I am incapable of punishing you,

and think that I am heedless of your sins.

So, by God, but for his love for you, I would not have forgone

punishing you with the sword you carry.

    But I found him forgiving,

and what he is doing is not fair.

So I was left bewildered between the offense and pardon,

and a barrier has come between me and you.
