Our submission is your due and our duty.

It is your right, our submission and obligation,

فأرضنا مرعى لكم لا يجدبُ

فأرضنا مرعى لكم لا يجدبُ

فيها لكم رزق حلال طيِّبُ

فيها لكم رزق حلال طيِّبُ

For our land is your pasture, never barren;

For our land is pasture for you, not barren,

in it you have lawful, wholesome sustenance.

In it for you is lawful, good sustenance,

وسرنا أنا نرى الأوطانا

وسرنا أنا نرى الأوطانا

على العدى لأهلها أعوانا

على العدى لأهلها أعوانا

And we rejoiced to see the homelands

And we are glad that we see countries,

allies to their people against the enemy.

Against the enemy, aides for its people,

فإن ذكرنا لكم ذنوبا

فإن ذكرنا لكم ذنوبا

كفَّرَها دفعُكُمُ الغريبا

كفَّرَها دفعُكُمُ الغريبا

So if we recall sins of yours,

If we mentioned sins to you,

your driving back the foreigner atoned for them,

Your driving away the foreigner has atoned them,

وأنها وقائعٌ نفعتُمُ

وأنها وقائعٌ نفعتُمُ

مغلوبكم بها كما انتفعتمُ

مغلوبكم بها كما انتفعتمُ

as did the fact that these were battles in which you benefited

And that they were events that benefited you,

those you vanquished, just as you yourselves benefited.

Your conquered through them as you benefited,

جرحتمونا كي تنبهونا

جرحتمونا كي تنبهونا

ونوَّمونا كي يُغَلِّلونا

ونوَّمونا كي يُغَلِّلونا

You wounded us to rouse us,

You wounded us that you might wake us,

while they lulled us to sleep to shackle us.

And lulled us that they might shackle us,

وقد يجرِّبُ الفتى في جسمِهِ

وقد يجرِّبُ الفتى في جسمِهِ

سلاحه يعده لخصمِهِ

سلاحه يعده لخصمِهِ

And a young man may test on his own body

And the young man may test on his body,

his weapon, which he readies for his foe.

His weapon he prepares for his foe,

فينا لأيْتُو مالك العنانِ

فينا لأيْتُو مالك العنانِ

جميلُ بَسْمَرْكَ على الألمانِ

جميلُ بَسْمَرْكَ على الألمانِ

Itō, master of the reins, has rendered us

In us when you come, holding the reins,

وسوف نلقى تحت ظل بوذا

if we unite, a delightful draught.

When we unite in a sweet creed.
