Festival of Struggle, may God preserve you—what a festival!

Feast of Jihad, may Allah protect you from harm,

You are most deserving of reverence and glorification.

You are the most deserving of sanctification and glorification,

ملأت كل فؤاد راحةً ورضاً

ملأت كل فؤاد راحةً ورضاً

كما ملأت أماناً موحش البيد

كما ملأت أماناً موحش البيد

You filled every heart with comfort and contentment,

You have filled every heart with comfort and pleasure,

As you filled the desolate deserts with safety.

Just as you have filled the desolate desert with safety.

فرض على البالغ الغايات عالية

تكريم ما مرّ من بدءٍ وتمهيد

تكريم ما مرّ من بدءٍ وتمهيد

Whoever attains lofty goals is duty-bound

It imposed on the mature lofty goals,

To honor the beginnings and groundwork that came before.

Honoring what has passed of beginnings and preparations.

فأي عهد بطيب الذكر أجدر من

نعمى وئام وتوفيق وتوحيد

نعمى وئام وتوفيق وتوحيد

For what age better deserves fond remembrance than

So which era of good mention is more deserving than

One blessed with concord, success, and unity?

The blessings of harmony, cooperation and unification?

يا آل مصر وما مصر بملقية

يا آل مصر وما مصر بملقية

إلا لكم بمناها والمقاليد

إلا لكم بمناها والمقاليد

O people of Egypt—Egypt entrusts

O people of Egypt, and Egypt is not a place of refuge,

Her hopes and the keys to you alone.

Except for you with its shelters and strongholds.

وما سوى وفدكم عون لأنفسكم

وما سوى وفدكم عون لأنفسكم

إذا خلا الكون من عون لمصفود

إذا خلا الكون من عون لمصفود

And none but your delegation can aid you,

And none other than your delegation is an aid to yourselves

When the world has no help for one in chains.

When the universe is devoid of aid to the shackled.

حملتموه أمانات تنوء بها

حملتموه أمانات تنوء بها

أهرامكم وهمُ في مسرح السيد

You burdened it with trusts beneath whose weight

You carried trusts that weighed down

Your pyramids would stagger, while its men are in the wolf's domain.

Your pyramids while they were in the field of the leader.

في بيت سعد دعاكم أمس موطنكم

واليوم يدعوكم في بيت محمود

واليوم يدعوكم في بيت محمود

In Saad's house your homeland called you yesterday,

Yesterday your homeland called you in Saad's house

And today it calls you in Mahmoud's house,

And today it calls you in Mohamed's house,

مذكراً بمواثيقٍ تؤكدها

خلف البحار مواثيق الصناديد

Reminding you of pledges reaffirmed

Reminding you of covenants that

Beyond the seas by the pledges of the champions:

Confirm covenants beyond the seas of leaders.

الصابرين على ما مرّ من عنت

السائرين إلى نصر وتأييد

السائرين إلى نصر وتأييد

Who endured the hardships of the past,

Those patient with what has passed of hardship,

Who march toward victory and support,

Walking towards victory and support,

الضاربين بسيف الحق أفئدة

غلفاً وألسنة شتى المكاييد

غلفاً وألسنة شتى المكاييد

Who strike with the sword of truth at hearts

Striking with the sword of truth the hearts

Sealed shut, and tongues of manifold deceit;

Of the misguided and the tongues of various conspiracies,

المقبلين وقد جاءت بشائرهم

على مصير لوادي النيل منشود

على مصير لوادي النيل منشود

Who advance, their glad tidings already here,

Coming while their good tidings have arrived

Toward a longed-for destiny for the Nile Valley.

About the hoped-for destiny of the Nile Valley,

إن أخلف القوم ميعاداً فحسبكمُ

إن أخلف القوم ميعاداً فحسبكمُ

أن الزمان وفيٌّ بالمواعيد

أن الزمان وفيٌّ بالمواعيد

If those people break a promise, it is enough for you

If the people break a tryst, it is enough for you

That time is faithful to its promises.

That time keeps its appointments.

يفديهما كل مطلوب وموجود

The people's freedom and their homeland's independence—

The freedom of the people and the independence of their homeland,

All that is sought and all that exists is sacrificed for them.

Are ransomed by every desired and found thing.

خذوا الوسائل والأسباب طاهرة

وجاهدوا ببراهين المذاويد

وجاهدوا ببراهين المذاويد

Adopt pure means and methods,

Take the means and causes pure,

And strive with the arguments of staunch defenders.

And strive with proofs and arguments.

سترفعون غداً أعلام نصركمُ

وتهتفون بمأثور الأناشيد

وتهتفون بمأثور الأناشيد

Tomorrow you will raise the banners of your victory,

Tomorrow you will raise the flags of your victory,

And chant the time-honored anthems.
