Sol 6.1

  1. سلمتك العناية الأزليهْ

    ووقتك الرعاية الأبديهْ

    Eternal providence kept you safe,

    and everlasting care protected you.

  2. ونجا للبلاد والشعب والعر

    ش وزير النظام والحريه

    And saved for the country, the people, and the throne

    was the minister of order and freedom.

  3. نية للمغامر اعترضتها

    وهي في صدره لربِّك نيه

    A design of the adventurer was thwarted,

    while still in his breast, by a design of your Lord.

  4. وأداة لحملها لم تطعه

    يده وهي في الرداء خفيه

    And a weapon—to wield it, he could not command

    his hand, hidden within his robe.

  5. ود مغريه أن يكون المضحي

    بك وهو الفداء وهو الضحيه

    His inciter wished to be the one to sacrifice

    you, though he himself is the ransom and himself the victim.

  6. من يهنئك بالنجاة يهنئ

    بنجاة الوفيِّ مصرَ الوفيه

    Whoever congratulates you on your deliverance congratulates

    loyal Egypt on the deliverance of the loyal man.

  7. أَعلنت حبها إليك الأقالي

    م منوفية وقليوبيه

    The provinces proclaimed their love for you—

    Monufia and Qalyubia.

  8. وأتى الوافدون فاتسعت لل

    وافدين الحدائق الخلديه

    And the visitors came, and room was made for

    the visitors in the everlasting gardens.

  9. وحنا دوحها عليك انعطافاً

    وجرى ماؤها إليك تحيه

    And their spreading trees bent over you in affection,

    and their waters flowed toward you in greeting.

  10. فقم اليوم في السراة خطيباً

    فوق هذي القناطر الخيريه

    So rise today among the notables as an orator,

    atop these Khayriyya Barrages.

  11. وتذكر يدَيْ عليٍّ وذكر

    قومه بالمآثر العلويه

    And recall Ali's hands, and remind

    his people of the Alawid achievements.

  12. وتحدث بنعمة الملك الحر

    ر فؤاد وعدله في الرعيه

    And speak of the blessing of the noble king,

    Fuad, and his justice toward his subjects.

  13. والجديد القريب من صحة الشو

    رى وصدق الولاية الشرعيه

    And what is new and recent in sound consultation

    and the integrity of lawful rule.

  14. وتقدم بفرجة الأزمة الكب

    رى وجدوى السياسة القطنيه

    And come forward with relief from the great crisis

    and the benefits of the cotton policy.

  15. وأبِنْ ملة الذين ادعوا أن

    نهمُ الأكثرية الأغلبيه

    And lay bare the creed of those who claimed

    that they were the majority—the overwhelming majority.

  16. أَخذ الدهر ثأر ندك منهم

    وهو ثأر القضية المصريه

    Time exacted from them vengeance for your peer,

    and that is vengeance for the Egyptian cause.

  17. وتولت حسابَهم عن يديه

    يدُك السمحة الطهور القويه

    And the task of reckoning with them passed from his hands

    to your generous, pure, mighty hand.

  18. وتناسوا زمانهم فتعدَّت

    هُ إليك المكايد الوفديه

    And they wilfully forgot their time; beyond it spread

    the Wafdist intrigues, reaching you.

  19. سرتما والصحاب تجمعكم في ال

    طيبات الوثائق الأخويه

    You two journeyed with your companions, united in

    good deeds by fraternal bonds.

  20. إن رأى الحاقدون صنعك رجعي

    ياً فأهلاً بهذه الرجعيه

    If the spiteful deem your work reactionary,

    then welcome to such reaction!

  21. تركوا الحكم عاجزين وما زا

    لوا مراضاً بهذه الأمنيه

    They left power in failure, and still

    they are sick with this ambition.

  22. شهوة في النفوس حائرة لا

    هي مقضية ولا منسيه

    A restless craving in their souls, neither

    fulfilled nor forgotten.

  23. أكثروا في جلالة الملك اللغْ

    وَ وخاضوا في هذه القدسيه

    They spoke much idle talk about the king's majesty

    and trespassed upon this sanctity.

  24. وأعدوها في الهوى صحفاً لا

    هي منشورة ولا مطويه

    And in their caprice they prepared it as pages, neither

    spread open nor folded away.

  25. أنت داويت كل أمر فهل تُرْ

    جَى مداواة هذه النفسيه

    You have remedied every matter; is there hope

    of curing this mentality?

  26. وهل القوم صالحون لصلح

    لائق بالسياسة القوميه

    And are these people fit for reconciliation

    befitting national policy?

  27. أم همُ يائسون من بعد ما أَع

    جزتهم عن تجارة الوطنيه

    Or have they despaired, now that you have

    stopped them from trading in patriotism?

  28. وعناد المصرِّ أيسر هولاً

    منه خوض المعارك الدمويه

    And the obstinate man's defiance is more dreadful

    than plunging into bloody battles.

  29. سئم الناس هذه السِيَرَ الهو

    جَ وتلك الوقائع الهزليه

    The people have tired of these reckless ways

    and those farcical episodes.

  30. والذي تاه أمس كبراً عليهم

    وجد اليوم نفسه سخريه

    And he who yesterday lorded it over them in pride

    today found himself a laughingstock.

  31. وعنا للغريم يرضيه حتى

    كاد يفضي إليه بالتبعيه

    And he bowed to his rival to please him, until

    he nearly avowed his subservience to him.

  32. ومضى مهدياً كرامته زل

    فى إلى الخصم وهو يأبى الهديّه

    And went on offering his dignity to gain favor

    with his opponent, who refused the gift.

  33. أمن الأمة الذي راح يستع

    دي على الأمّة اليد الأجنبيه

    Does he belong to the nation, he who went seeking

    the foreign hand's aid against the nation?

  34. كاد ينفض رهطه حذراً من

    ه وتدري الصواب تلك البقيه

    His followers almost scattered, wary of

    him; and that remnant knows what is right.

  35. أنت والصحب بالغون لمصر ال

    ضخمَ من سؤودٍ ومن مدنيه

    You and your companions will secure for Egypt

    great eminence and civilization.

  36. وضمان المصير وهو كما تخ

    تار هذي الوسائل الجديه

    And the guarantee of the future—which will be as you

    choose—is these earnest measures.

  37. مرّ بالمدن والقرى ركبك الفخ

    م فهل آن موعد الغربيه

    Your splendid procession has passed through cities and villages;

    so has Gharbia's turn come?
