نُصر الإِلهُ بِها وَعزَّ المُصحَفُ
The defenders raged for Ahmad's religion with a mighty rage,
The defenders were enraged for Ahmad's religion
Through which God was championed and the Qur'an exalted.
God granted victory through it, and the Mus'haf was honored

تَرمِي بِأَبطالِ الرِجالِ وَتقذفُ
It hurled Hanotaux away, and he fell in a dust cloud
It cast down Hanutu, so it fell in turmoil
That flings and hurls the champions of men.
It throws the brave men and casts them

حَتّى اِنبَرى القَدرُ الَّذي لا يَعسِفُ
No sooner had he swooped down, assailing the Muslims with his tyranny,
Before it demolishes, it throws the Muslims with its severity
Than fate, which never wrongs, rose to confront him.
Until the destined arose, that is not severe

He roused the defenders, and so roused every fearless warrior,
The defenders were provoked, so every supporter was provoked
Swift in battle, sweeping horsemen away.
O events, hasten the horsemen, blowing fiercely

Gabriel turns up with the banner, and Ahmad
Marches between the appointed successor and Hamza.
Between the successor and Hamza, marches
أَوand is it that? كلّماwhenever هاجَstirs up التعصُّبَfanaticism أَهلُهُits adherents

صاح الغَوِيُّ بِنا وضجَّ المُرجِفُ
And is it that whenever its adherents stir up fanaticism,
Or whenever prejudice provoked its people
The misguided man shouts at us and the alarmist clamors?
The heretic cried to us, and the troublemaker clamored
فيon كُلِّevery يَومٍday لِلتَعَصُّبِfanaticism has غارَةٌa raid

يَدعو بِها داعِي الصَليبِ وَيَهتِفُ
Every day fanaticism mounts a raid;
Every day, for prejudice, there is a raid
The herald of the Cross calls for it and cries aloud.
Called for by the crusader's preacher, and he screams

ظُلمُ الأُلى لَولا السياسَةُ أَنصفوا
The Muslim peoples cried out, and were appalled
The Muslim nations were startled and terrified by
By the injustice of those who, but for politics, would have been fair.
The oppression of the tyrants - if not for politics they would have been fair

They made the Cross her weapon, and she poured forth
They made the cross its weapon, and it warded off
As blood from its two sides; yet they did not recoil.
Blood from its sides, yet they did not refrain

Indeed, the Cross, despite its followers' ignorance,
Indeed the cross, in its people's ignorance
Surely sees and recognizes the path of the reformers.
Will see the path of the reformers, and know

Does Hanotaux set his sights on Muhammad's grave,
Which of Hanutu is at Muhammad's grave
While Jesus circles it and keeps vigil?
And Jesus circling and praying around it

Can he say that without it reeling with its people—
Will it say this is unacceptable for its people
Paris, in terror—and the museum crashing down?
Paris does not sway in fear, and the museum collapses

Then he shall see which kingdom is folded away,
So it will see which kingdom folds
And he shall know which throne is blown apart.
And it will know which throne gets demolished

أَيدي الخُطوبِ شُعوبَه فَاستُضعِفوا
Alas for Islam! It has been abased, and shaken were
And it will live for Islam, while Han wavered
Its peoples by calamity's hands, so they were deemed weak.
And the hands of calamities shook its people, so they were weakened

Were it not for fanaticism, no terror beneath its shade
If not for prejudice, nations would not be startled under its shadow
Would make nations reel or kingdoms tremble.
Nor kingdoms quake

And I see that those whose inclinations have diverged,
And I see those whose desires differed
Had they raged for it, would have united.
If they were angry at it, they would unite

Wait, you evil callers, for behind you
A day when peoples will keep being snatched away.
Is a day when the nations will remain snatched

Events will flounder in its depths
And continue unfolding to reveal its terrors.
And remain unveiling its horrors

God has, concerning what you do to His religion,
To God, in what you do to His religion
A most faithful covenant and a promise never broken.
Is a promise more binding, and an appointment not to be missed

Hold back, for on that day His judgment is ordained.
Wait, for on that day, His decree will protect
Indeed, once the decree takes effect, it cannot be averted.
Indeed, when the decree comes to pass, it will not be diverted

The Book unveiled the clear path, so look;
The Book has uncovered the proof, so look
Yet I see that, in your view, the clear path is to turn away.
And I see the proof with you is to collide

Seek refuge in the most dreadful thing your souls fear;
Take refuge in the most frightening thing your souls fear
Indeed, the Book is more fearsome to souls.
Indeed the Book, over souls, is most frightening

Indeed, that which subdued the tyrants has no
Indeed, He who subdued the tyrants, nothing
Equal to be reckoned, nor likeness to be described.
Can equal Him, nor can He be described

Its lines maneuver the fleets of destiny
And its letters lead the cavalry of God.
And from it, the letters lead the horses of God

And it may have ridden the galaxy, rising high
And down fell the lofty one that overlooked the billows.
While the star swooped down on the soaring clouds

A fortress which religion takes refuge in its side
Azrael keeps watch, hovering above it.
Azrael lurks over it, fluttering

The atmosphere is miserable with what melts of powers
And grow cramped with the souls he snatches up.
And is narrow with the passions it receives

Nothing lies between a rebel's leap and his retreat
Nothing between the leap of a rebel and his recoil
But an arena for the defenders and a place to stand.
Except a space for the defenders, and a stance
