Rejoice: what you asked for has been granted
Rejoice! That which you asked for has been granted
by a Lord who guided you, and you followed His guidance.
by a Lord who guided you, and you followed His guidance.

You preferred Him and, among His servants, were content
the righteous deeds that He approves.
with those righteous deeds that He approves.

They killed you in that cause, as you drove them from His faith,
They killed you in His cause as you drove them back from His faith,
struck down, and kept His sanctuary from profanation.
leaving them slain and keeping His sanctuary inviolate.

They wronged you, torturing the body for which
And they wronged you, torturing the body that
nothing awaits but honor and bliss.
alone was worthy of honor and bliss.

It was a prayer for you: scarcely had you raised a hand with it
It was your prayer: scarcely had you extended a hand in supplication
before God accepted it and answered.
when God accepted it and answered.

that sacred realm—how does it look to you?
that holy sanctuary: how do you see it?

What has He prepared for every righteous, God-fearing man
Souls went astray, but he obeyed not his desire.
who, though souls went astray, did not obey his own desire?

Do you see, servant of God, how high you have attained—
Have you seen, Abdullah, how you have attained
an honor whose reach even Gemini falls short of?
an honor beyond the reach of the constellation al-Jawza?

Your purified blood, if offered to a dying man
Your purified blood, if given to a dying man
whose cure had baffled physicians, would heal him.
whose cure had baffled the healers, would surely heal him.

The matter hinges on earnest effort; no help comes from

Souls suffer—but none so wretched as a loser
Souls suffer, but no misery matches that of a loser
who has preserved neither his faith nor his worldly life.
who has preserved neither his faith nor his worldly life.

A man desires life and length of days
And a man longs for life and a long span of it,
until death becomes his greatest wish.
until death becomes his greatest wish.

Yet in the martyrs’ blood is a might without which
From the martyrs' blood you have strength; your faith would not have risen
your faith would not have stood exalted upon the earth.
exalted upon the earth without it.

No true leader’s power ever passes away
No strength of a leader of truth comes to an end
without time increasing his strength.
without his powers increasing with time.
