1. بَني الآمالِ قَد وَضَحَ اليَقينُ

    تَجَلّى العامُ وَالعَصرُ المُبينُ

    O children of hope, certainty has become clear.

    The year and the manifest age have dawned.

  2. أَطَلَّ عَلى بَني الدُنيا وَليدٌ

    أَجَلُّ الحادِثاتِ بِهِ جَنينُ

    A newborn has appeared to the children of the world;

    The grandest of events is an embryo within him.

  3. بَشيرُ الغَيبِ يُلمَحُ في يَدَيهِ

    كِتابٌ لا يَضِلُّ وَلا يَخونُ

    A herald of the unseen—in his hands is glimpsed

    A book that neither goes astray nor betrays.

  4. تُضيءُ حَقائِقُ الآمالِ فيهِ

    وَتَنقَشِعُ الوَساوِسُ وَالظُنونُ

    The truths of hope shine within it,

    And misgivings and suspicions clear away.

  5. وَما تَعمى قُلوبُ الناسِ يَوماً

    إِذا عَمِيَت عَنِ الأَمرِ العُيونُ

    And people's hearts never go blind

    When eyes are blind to the matter.

  6. هِلالَ العامِ أَنتَ لِمِصرَ دُنيا

    تُعَظِّمُها وَأَنتَ لِمِصرَ دينُ

    O crescent of the year, you are a world for Egypt,

    Which you exalt; and for Egypt you are a faith.

  7. تُجَدِّدُ مِن رَسولِ اللَهِ ذِكرى

    لَها في كُلِّ جانِحَةٍ رَنينُ

    You renew a remembrance of God's Messenger,

    Whose ringing echoes in every rib.

  8. أَتى والناسُ في الظُلُماتِ غَرقى

    فَفاضَ النورُ وَاِستَوَتِ السَفينُ

    He came while people were drowning in darkness,

    So light overflowed, and the ships grew steady.

  9. وَقامَت دَولَةُ الأَخلاقِ تَعلو

    وَقامَ العَرشُ وَالتاجُ الثَمينُ

    And the realm of virtue arose, rising high,

    And the throne and the precious crown arose.

  10. وَأَشرَقَتِ الحَضارَةُ فَاِستَضاءَت

    بِها الأَجيالُ أَجمَعُ وَالقُرونُ

    And civilization shone, and so were illumined

    By it all generations and the centuries.

  11. تَلوذُ بِمَعقِلٍ لِلعَدلِ عالٍ

    تَلوذُ بِهِ المَعاقِلُ وَالحُصونُ

    They seek refuge in a lofty stronghold of justice,

    In which strongholds and fortresses seek refuge.

  12. نُحِبُّ مُحَمَّداً وَنَصونُ فيهِ

    لِعيسى ما يُحِبُّ وَما يَصونُ

    We love Muhammad, and in him we safeguard

    For Jesus what he loves and what he safeguards.

  13. وَنُكرِمُ قَومَهُ وَنَكونُ مِنهُم

    بِحَيثُ يَكونُ ذو الرَحِمِ الضَنينُ

    And we honor his people, and stand among them

    Where a devoted kinsman would stand.

  14. تُؤَلِّفُ بَينَنا آمالُ مِصرٍ

    وَتَجمَعُنا الحَوادِثُ وَالشُؤونُ

    Egypt's hopes bring us together,

    And events and affairs unite us.

  15. تَوَلَّ أَمورَنا يا رَبِّ إِنّا

    بِكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَحدَكَ نَستَعينُ

    Take charge of our affairs, O Lord; indeed we

    Seek help from You alone, O God.

  16. وَمَهما نَبغِ مِن شَرَفٍ وَمَجدٍ

    فَأَنتَ بِهِ كَفيلٌ أَو ضَمينُ

    And whatever honor and glory we may seek,

    Then You are its guarantor or surety.

  17. سَيَملِكُ أَمرَهُ الشَعبُ المُفَدّى

    وَيَرفَعُ ذِكرَهُ البَلَدُ الأَمينُ

    The cherished people will govern their own affairs,

    And the secure land will raise its renown.
