جَلَلاًmighty يَهُزُّshakes دَوِيُّهُits thunder الأَقطاراthe lands
Indeed, we have come with praise, sending it forth,
We come bearing praise we lead forth
Mighty, its thunder shaking the lands.
Grandly, its echo shakes the lands
أَمَّنتَناyou kept us safe كَيدَthe plots of الَّذينَthose who تَنازَعواfought over
أَرواحَناour souls وَتَناهَبواand plundered among themselves الأَعماراlifetimes
You kept us safe from the plots of those who fought over
You protected us from the scheming of those who
Our souls, and plundered our lifetimes.
Strove against our souls and plundered lifetimes
ياO واهِبَgiver of الأَمنِsafety النُفوسَthe souls وَلَمand did not تَكُنthey were

O giver of safety to souls, when they could not
O Giver of security to souls, though you had no
Find safety or manage to rest.
Safety to gain, or rest to find
إِنَّindeed الَّذينَthose whom أَدَلتَyou turned the tide مِنهُمagainst them عادِلاًacting justly
وَتَرَكتَهُمand you left them مُتَمَزِّقينَtorn apart حَيارىbewildered
Indeed, those against whom you turned the tide, acting justly,
Those whom you guided justly
And whom you left torn apart and bewildered,
And whom you left bewildered and confused
كانواthey were النُهاةَthose who forbid الآمِرينَthose who command فَماso whatever اِشتَهواthey desired

Were those who forbade and commanded; so whatever they desired,
Were the absolute rulers, so they took what they craved
They obtained, and whatever they imposed on people came to pass.
And did to people whatever they desired

How many a groan resounded beneath the darkness,
How many groans in darkness wandered
And so its echoes brought the fates to a halt!
Their echoes astounding the fates

How many a calamity weighed upon us, and how many an overwhelming ordeal
How many disasters overwhelmed us
In which we waded through terrors and dangers!
And perils we braved through hardship and danger
فيin ظِلِّthe shade of قَسوَرِكَyour lion المُبارَكِblessed عَهدُهُhis reign

In the shade of your lion, whose reign is blessed,
In the shade of your blessed castle whose rule
He who met death time and again lived.
Outlived those who met adversity again and again

You are the holders of authority, so hold fast to it;
You are the guardians, so protect it
And you suffice as champions for your country.
And suffice as defenders of your lands
