with jumbled dreams that distress and disturb.

With nonsense dreams that disturb and unsettle

فيا ليتني أشقى نهاري وفي الكرى

أسرُّ برؤيا من أحبّ وأبهج

أسرُّ برؤيا من أحبّ وأبهج

So, if only I suffered through my day, and in slumber

If only my days were miserable, and at night

were gladdened by a vision of the one I love, and rejoiced.

I could dream of whom I love and delights me
