Al-Waqāʾiʿ shunned me during the fast, since

The phases left me confused in fasting, when

Its honey and wine would break one's fast then.

It witnessed them while juice and date break fast.

ولكنها وصلت بعده

ففي الحالتين جداها استبان

But it reached me afterward;

But it connected after it.

So in both circumstances its bounty became clear.

So in both cases its newness became clear.

وقد فاتني عدد عاشر

وقد فاتني عدد عاشر

به شاع بحث مع الترجمان

به شاع بحث مع الترجمان

And I missed the tenth issue,

And the tenth date escaped me

In which a discussion with the translator became known.

When the discussion spread with the translator.

فانعم على به واغننم

فانعم على به واغننم

دعآى بالقلب ثم اللسان

So favor me with it, and gain

So grant it to me and let me gain,

My prayer, from the heart and then the tongue.

Indeed, you are the generous one looked to

Because You are the Generous hoped for

For stringing gifts together and scattering pearls.

To string pearls and scatter beads.
