على الدنيا انجلى ذنب لنجم

وآخر للجوائب معنوي

وآخر للجوائب معنوي

A star's tail has appeared over the world,

And al-Jawa'ib has another, figurative one.

فذلك في السماء له رقي

فذلك في السماء له رقي

وهذا في الحضيض له هوى

وهذا في الحضيض له هوى

For that one rises in the heavens,

While this one sinks into the depths.
