حمداً لنعمة عادلٍ قسّام

للرزق   بين  الناس  و  الأنعام

للرزق بين الناس و الأنعام

Thanks for the bounty of a just dispenser

Praise be to the Equitable Provider,

Of sustenance among people and livestock.

Who apportions sustenance to humankind and animals alike.

جمعوا  مؤونة عامهم من مأكلٍ

جمعوا مؤونة عامهم من مأكلٍ

وجمعت من شعرٍ مؤونة عامي

وجمعت من شعرٍ مؤونة عامي

They gathered their year's supply of food,

They gathered provisions for the year from food,

And I gathered my year's supply of poetry.

While I gathered from poetry provisions for my life.

شتّان    بين    ذخيرة   الإلهام

شتّان بين ذخيرة الإلهام

وذخيرة   من   مشرَب  وطعام

وذخيرة من مشرَب وطعام

What a difference between a store of inspiration

Vast is the difference between the store of inspiration

And a store of drink and food!

And the store of drink and food.
