لو كنتَ تعلمُ ماالحَنينُ .. عذرتَني

لو كنتَ تعلمُ ماالحَنينُ .. عذرتَني

أو كُنتَ تفقه ما الغرامُ ..  عذرتُكا

أو كُنتَ تفقه ما الغرامُ .. عذرتُكا

If you knew what longing is, you would excuse me.

If you knew what longing is.. you would pardon me

Or if you understood what passion is, I would excuse you.

Or if you understood what love is.. I would pardon you

 هذا وربّك للفؤاد .. بليّةٌ

هذا وربّك للفؤاد .. بليّةٌ

شوقي .. وجهْلُكَ أنّني أحبَبتُك

شوقي .. وجهْلُكَ أنّني أحبَبتُك

This, by your Lord, is an affliction for the heart:

By your Lord this is an affliction upon my heart

My longing—and your not knowing that I loved you.

My longing.. and your ignorance that I have loved you
