إذا مَا كُنتَ ذا كلف وللمَحبوب تَشتاقُ

إذا مَا كُنتَ ذا كلف وللمَحبوب تَشتاقُ

‏فكُن بالوَصلِ طوفانًا فإنّ العشق إغراقُ.

‏فكُن بالوَصلِ طوفانًا فإنّ العشق إغراقُ.

If you are consumed with love and yearn for the beloved,

If longing for the beloved burdens you,

then be a deluge in union, for passionate love is drowning.

Then let reunion flood you, for love is drowning.
