وَمَاand not خُنتُI betrayed ذاone possessing عَهدٍa covenant وأُبتُand I returned بِعَهدِهِwith his covenant
وَلمand did not أَحرِمِI deprive المضُطَرَّthe distressed man إذwhen جاءَhe came قانِعاbegging
And I never betrayed one bound by a covenant; I returned with his covenant intact.
Nor did I refuse the distressed man when he came begging.
فلَمso did not أَجتَعِلI earn فيمَاin what أَتَيتُI did مَلاَمَةًblame
أَتَيتُI did الَجمالَwhat is noble واجتَنَبتُand I avoided القَنازِعاevil deeds
So I earned no blame for what I did.
I did what was noble and shunned evil deeds.
