كُلُّ صَعلٍ كأَنَّما شَقَّ فيهِ
سَعَفَleaves الشَّريِof the colocynth شَفرتَاthe two blades of مِقراضِa pair of shears
سَعَفَ الشَّريِ شَفرتَا مِقراضِ
Each small-headed one, as though in it
the two blades of shears had split colocynth leaves.
