وَمِنand from حَذَرِwariness of الأَيَّامِthe days ماthat حَزَّcut off أَنفَهُhis nose
وَمِن حَذَرِ الأَيَّامِ ما حَزَّ أَنفَهُ
قَصيرٌQasir وخاضَand plunged into الَموتَdeath بِالسَّيفِwith the sword بَيهَسُBayhas
قَصيرٌ وخاضَ الَموتَ بِالسَّيفِ بَيهَسُ
And it was out of wariness of the days that he cut off his nose—
Qasir; and Bayhas plunged into death with the sword.
نَعَامَةُNa‘amah لَمَّاwhen صَرَّعَstruck down القَومُthe men رهطَهُhis kinsmen
نَعَامَةُ لَمَّا صَرَّعَ القَومُ رهطَهُ
تَبَيَّنَhe discerned فيin أَثوابِهِhis garments كَيفَhow يَلبَسُhe dresses
تَبَيَّنَ في أَثوابِهِ كَيفَ يَلبَسُ
Na‘amah, when the men struck down his kinsmen,
Discerned how to dress in his garments.
