مَنَعنا أَرضَنا مِن كُلِّ حَيّ

مَنَعنا أَرضَنا مِن كُلِّ حَيّ

كَما اِمتَنَعَت بِطائِفِها ثَقيفُ

كَما اِمتَنَعَت بِطائِفِها ثَقيفُ

We defended our land against every tribe,

Our land we guarded from every living being

Just as Thaqif defended itself in its Ta’if.

As did Thaqif within its environs

أَتاهُم مَعشَرٌ كَي يَسلِبوهُم

أَتاهُم مَعشَرٌ كَي يَسلِبوهُم

فَحالَت دونَ ذلكُمُ السُيوفُ

فَحالَت دونَ ذلكُمُ السُيوفُ

A band came to them to plunder them,

A band came to despoil them

But the swords stood in the way of that.
