By God, they will not reach you with all their host
By God, they will never reach you with their multitude,
Until I am laid to rest, buried in the dust.
Until I am laid to rest in the grave.

So proclaim your cause openly; no disgrace rests upon you.
So be resolute in your affair, worry not,
And rejoice in that, and let your eyes find comfort in it.
And rejoice in that, and it will delight the eyes.

And indeed you spoke the truth, and in that you were trustworthy.
And indeed you spoke truthfully and were then trustworthy.

Were it not for reproach, or my fear of disgrace,
If not for fear of blame or avoidance of abuse,
You would have found me receptive to it, openly professing it.
You would have found me openly accepting that.
