وخالي هِشامُ بِنُ المُغيرَةِ ثاقِب

وخالي هِشامُ بِنُ المُغيرَةِ ثاقِب

إِذا هَمَّ يَوماً كَالحُسامِ المُهَنَّدِ

إِذا هَمَّ يَوماً كَالحُسامِ المُهَنَّدِ

And my maternal uncle Hisham ibn al-Mughira is keen,

My uncle Hisham bin Mughirah, a sharp sword

whenever he resolves to act, like a sharp sword of Indian steel.

Whenever he decides, like a well-honed blade

وَخالي الوَليدُ العِدلُ عالٍ مَكانُهُ
