إذاwhen زرناكwe visit you والمدحand praise اقتضابُimprovisation
إذا زرناك والمدح اقتضابُ
You have shown nobility and risen to mastery; your bounty is there for the taking.
You are generous and eminent; your bounty is there for the taking
Whenever we visit you, praise springs forth unpremeditated.

أخوانtwo brothers وماand not أبقيتyou have left مالاany wealth
أخوان وما أبقيت مالا
وأبوابand doors وقدand already رفعhas been lifted الحجابthe veil
وأبواب وقد رفع الحجاب
The two go hand in hand—and you have kept back no wealth,
Two brothers—and you have left no wealth;
nor any doors, now that the barrier has been lifted.
