  1. أقنطرة النوبندجان وديرها

    وحور مهى لا تألف الحور غيرها

    O bridge of al-Nubandajan and its monastery,

    And oryx-eyed beauties—none but they haunt the poplars.

  2. شربنا بها والروض يخلع زهره

    على الشرب والاشجار تنثر طيرها

    We drank there as the garden shed its blossoms

    Upon the drinkers, and the trees scattered their birds.
