إِنَّ الكِرامَ عَلى ما كانَ مِن خُلُقٍ

إِنَّ الكِرامَ عَلى ما كانَ مِن خُلُقٍ

رَهطُ اِمرِئٍ خارَهُ لِلدينِ مُختارُ

رَهطُ اِمرِئٍ خارَهُ لِلدينِ مُختارُ

Surely the noble, whatever their character,

The noble ones stay true to their virtuous ways,

are the clan of a man whom a chooser selected for the faith.

A people whose leader shuns false religion.

طَبُّ بَصيرٌ بِأَضغانِ الرِجالِ وَلَم

طَبُّ بَصيرٌ بِأَضغانِ الرِجالِ وَلَم

يُعدَل بِحَبرِ رَسولِ اللَهِ أَحبارُ

يُعدَل بِحَبرِ رَسولِ اللَهِ أَحبارُ

An expert, discerning of men's grudges—and no

Keen insight into men’s hearts, Rightly-guided,

scholars were reckoned equal to the scholar of God's Messenger.

None can match the Prophet’s writings, scholars all.

وَقَطرَةٌ قَطَرَت إِذ حانَ مَوعِدُها

وَقَطرَةٌ قَطَرَت إِذ حانَ مَوعِدُها

وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ لَهُ وَقتٌ وَمِقدارُ

وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ لَهُ وَقتٌ وَمِقدارُ

And a drop fell when its appointed time came—

A single teardrop falls when its time is due,

and everything has a time and a measure—

For everything has its proper time and measure.

حَتّى تَنَصَّلَها في مَسجِدٍ طُهُرٍ

حَتّى تَنَصَّلَها في مَسجِدٍ طُهُرٍ

عَلى إِمامِ هُدىً إِنَّ مَعشَرٌ جاروا

عَلى إِمامِ هُدىً إِنَّ مَعشَرٌ جاروا

until he drew it forth in a pure mosque,

It fell in a sacred mosque on the Imam of Guidance -

against an imam of guidance—indeed, a band acted unjustly.

A band had come to force Abu Hassan inside

حُمَّت لِيَدخُلَ جَنّاتٍ أَبو حَسَنٍ

حُمَّت لِيَدخُلَ جَنّاتٍ أَبو حَسَنٍ

وَأَوجَبَت بَعدَهُ لِلقاتِلِ النارُ

وَأَوجَبَت بَعدَهُ لِلقاتِلِ النارُ

It was decreed that Abu Hasan should enter gardens,

So he could enter the Gardens, but for his killer

and after him it made the Fire the killer's due.

It made obligatory the hellfire afterwards.
