To God let the palms of all creatures be raised.

And through God let the hardships of adversity be repelled.

And in God let His servants' hope grow great.

And could the Creator's mercy ever fail a creature?

So, O you who seek refuge at a door other than His,

Hold fast, for you have missed the path of truth.

You look for the lifting of harm from one without power,

And hope to obtain sustenance from one who is no provider.

You are sincere in affirming God's oneness, in word and intention,

Yet perform the deeds of a man who is not sincere.

Come to your senses: the path of truth is radiant and clear,

When, one day, all paths become obscure.

    تكن معصماً عزّاً بقنّة شاهق

    And rely on Him whom nothing resembles;

You will be secure in might upon a towering mountain's summit.

And come, if you wish for a pleasant stroll, let roam

Your eyes through gardens of His signs.

You will see 'There is none but God' from that which does not lie,

And hear 'Exalted is God' from that which does not speak.

For in God's dominion is a sea of wonders,

Whose speech sends the taster's mind reeling.

The pavilion of God's light stands before His majesty,

And minds stand bewildered before the pavilion.

At every instant, His kindness brings us blessings:

Great favors above and beyond the subtlest blessings.

He bestows; we disobey Him; yet He pardons out of generosity.

Blessed are You, ever forgiving the sins of all creatures!

So, O you who hope for a return to union,

Listen closely, for union lies in severing attachments.

And rise in gratitude to God for every blessing,

Granted among them, one following another.

And among the Lord's blessings upon us is a caliph,

Granted among them, one following another.

An imam in the farthest West, into whose palms are laid

The palms of the East, in willing obedience to him.

Through him God united hearts in right guidance.

And without him, a clamorer's rising would go unrecognized.

Whenever his foes run unchecked in their hypocrisy,

Then in his sword lies crushing force against every hypocrite.

    وإن شئت فلتسأل بطون المفارق

    Manifest victory over his foes is stored up for him;

And if you wish, ask the insides of skulls.

And can the foes, mere latecomers, repel

Lofty honors already inscribed for him in the earliest decrees?
