لبيك من مُخلصٍ مُوال

مبارك الخيم والخلال

I respond from a loyal devotee

Blessed are the tents and the meadows

ناديتِ والملتقى بعيدٌ

سَمعاً للقياك في احتفال

You called and the meeting place is far

Hearing your voice in celebration

فبحتَ شوقاً بذكر شوق

والجمر يذكو من الذبال

So you yearned with yearning's mention

And embers are stoked from the fuel

فارحل كما تشتهي وتهوى

عن اهتبال إلى اهتبال

So travel as you wish and desire

From rapture to rapture

حفيَّ برّ شهيَّ ذِكرٍ

خليّ فكر رخيّ بال

Enveloped in excellent fragrant mention

Empty thoughts, comfortable mind

تحت ظلال بلا طلال

فوق دماث بلا بلال

Under shadows without shade

Over plains without wetness

والأفق يهفو له نسيم

يزل عن موطئ الزلال

And the horizon gently blows to it a breeze

Slipping from the foot of the smoothness

وللمطايا حثيث سير

كالسُّحب في مقود الشمال

And for the riding beasts hurried pace

Like clouds led to the north

تقصر أيامها عليها

فتغنم الطُّول في الليالي

Their days shortened upon them

So they enjoy length in the nights

يا مجرياً في البيان طرفا

نائي المدى واسع المجال

O flowing elegantly in rhetoric at times

Far reached and vast scope

وجهت قبل اللقاء طرسا

أشهى وصولاً من الوصال

You have set out before the meeting knots

More desirable arrival than union

حلَّ محلَّ الرِّضا وجلا

بالدُّر من سحره الحلال

It took the place of acceptance and shone

With pearls from its halal sorcery

واستوقف الطَّرف إذ تبدى

في الزَّهر والزُّهر واللآلى

And stopped the glance when appeared

In the flowers and blossoms and beauties

لا يبرح الحسن عنه حتى

يبقى بديلاً من الخبال

Beauty does not cease from it

It remains instead of vices

فمن شمال إلى يمين

ومن يمين إلى شمال

From north to south

And from right to left

أنت لعمري الأثير حقاً

بما تملكت من خلال

You are by my life truly noble

With what you possess an assets

وقد سمعنا ونحن نرجو

رؤية ما قيل بالكمال

And we have heard while we hope

To see what was said completely

فإن جرى فالجميل منكم

وليس بالبدع صدق بال

So if it flows the beauty is from you

And honesty in speech is no innovation
