تأدب إذا ذكر المصطفى

بصمت اللسان وغضِّ البصر

بصمت اللسان وغضِّ البصر

Show reverence when the Chosen One is mentioned,

by keeping your tongue silent and lowering your gaze.

فإنَّ التأدب عند السماع

فإنَّ التأدب عند السماع

يفهّم في النطق أو في النظر

يفهّم في النطق أو في النظر

For reverence while listening

is made clear in speech or in the gaze.

وردَّد أحاديثه إنها

وردَّد أحاديثه إنها

دليل على صدق خير البشر

دليل على صدق خير البشر

And repeat his sayings; indeed, they are

evidence of the truthfulness of the best of humankind.

وصلِّ عليه هدى ذكره

وصلِّ عليه هدى ذكره

فذلك أفضل ما يُدَّخر

فذلك أفضل ما يُدَّخر

And invoke blessings upon him; remembrance of him is guidance.

For that is the best of what is stored up.

ولا تسترب في براهينه

ولا تسترب في براهينه

فتسلك مسلك قوم أخر

فتسلك مسلك قوم أخر

And do not doubt his proofs,

lest you follow the path of other people.

فكم آية ظهرت للنبيّ

فكم آية ظهرت للنبيّ

وكم أثر عنده قد ظهر

وكم أثر عنده قد ظهر

For how many a sign has appeared for the Prophet,

and how many a trace has appeared in his presence!

ومن شكَّ في نور برهانه

ومن شكَّ في نور برهانه

علي أنَّ برهانه قد بهر

علي أنَّ برهانه قد بهر

And whoever doubts the light of his proof,

although his proof has dazzled,

فكبِّر على عقله أربعاً

فكبِّر على عقله أربعاً

وقل فوق طورك هذا الخبر

وقل فوق طورك هذا الخبر

then say 'God is greatest' four times over his mind,

and say, 'This report is beyond your grasp.'
