أَثنىpraised بِهِwith it أَحَدٌanyone يَوماًever عَلىupon أَحَدِanyone
I praise the two sons of God's Messenger with the finest praise
I praise the two sons of Allah's Messenger with the best praise
that anyone has ever bestowed upon another:
With which anyone has ever praised anyone
السيّدَينِthe two lords الكَريمَيboth noble in كلِّevery مُنصَرفٍdirection of kinship
مِنthrough والدَينِboth parents وَمِنand through صِهرٍkin by marriage وَمنand through وَلدِoffspring
the two lords, noble on every side,
The two noble masters, every affiliated one
through both parents, kin by marriage, and offspring.
From parents, in-laws, and children
ذُرِّيَّةٌdescendants بَعضُهاsome of them مِنfrom بَعضِهاsome of them عَمِرَتflourished
فيin أَصلِthe root of مجدٍglory رَفيعِlofty in السَمكِthe roof وَالعَمَدِand the pillars
Descendants sprung one from another, who have flourished
A lineage, some of which from some of it lived
at the root of glory, lofty in roof and pillars.
In an origin of glorious high column and pillar
ماذاwhat بَنىbuilt لَهُمfor them مِنof صالِحٍgood حَسَنٌHasan
وَحَسنٌand Hasan وَعليّand Ali وَاِبتَنواand they built لِغَدِfor the morrow
How much good was built for them by Hasan,
What good did the righteous Hasan build for them
and Hasan and Ali—and they built for the morrow!
And Hasan and Ali constructed for tomorrow
فَكَرَّمَso honored اللَهُGod ذاكَthat البَيتَthe house تَكرمةًan honor
تَبقىendures وَتَخلُدُand abides forever فيهِin it آخِرَto the end of الأَبَدِeternity
So God honored that house with an honor
So Allah honored that house with an honor
that endures and abides there to eternity's end.
That remains and eternally endures in it
هُمthey السَدىthe dew وَالنَدىand bounty ماno فيin قَناتِهِمُtheir spear-shaft
إِذاwhen تَعَوَّجَتِgrow bent العيدانِthe shafts منany أَوَدِcrookedness
They are dew and bounty; in their spear-shaft,
They are the breeze and dew, in their spears
when other shafts bend, there is no crookedness.
If the poles were bent from softness
مُهَذَّبونَrefined هِجانٌpure-bred أُمَّهاتُهُمُtheir mothers

Refined and pure-bred are they; their mothers,
Well-mannered, passionate, their mothers
when their ancestry is traced, are the clear water of a cold, lightning-bearing cloud.
When attributed to the flowing cool lightning
بَينَbetween الفَواطِمَthe Fatimas ماذاwhat ثَمَّthere مِنof كَرَمٍnobility
إِلىto العَواتِكِthe Atikas مَجدٌglory غَيرُnot مُنتقدِopen to reproach
Between the Fatimas—what nobility lies there!—
Among Al-Fatima, what then is there from generosity
and the Atikas lies glory beyond reproach.
To Al-Awatik, glory other than that which is flawless
ماnot يَنتَهيculminates المَجدُglory إِلّاexcept فيin بَنيthe sons of حَسَنٍHasan
وَماand not لَهُمfor them دونَهُapart from it مِنany دارِhouse of مُلتَحدِrefuge
Glory culminates only in the sons of Hasan,
Glory does not end except in the sons of Hasan
and apart from it they have no house of refuge.
And they have no home besides it with connected land
