Your cheeks beckoned the proud of gaze,

And your eyes milked tears from other eyes.

I have always hoped in you, just as I have always—

My lord, since I came to be—feared you.

By God, were I granted my wishes, I would desire

Only to kiss your mouth with mine.

Far-reaching indeed is the ambition of one who spends an evening or

A morning, on any day, longing for you.
