وَجَدَ الحاسِدونَ فينا مَقالا

وَجَدَ الحاسِدونَ فينا مَقالا

فَوَّقوا أَسهُماً لَنا وَنِبالا

فَوَّقوا أَسهُماً لَنا وَنِبالا

The envious found something to say against us;

The envious found fault with us,

They nocked arrows and shafts against us.

And sharpened their arrows and spears against us.

عَجِبوا أَنَّ قانِصاً بَثَّ في الآ

عَجِبوا أَنَّ قانِصاً بَثَّ في الآ

فاقِ أَشراكَهُ فَصادَ غَزالا

فاقِ أَشراكَهُ فَصادَ غَزالا

They marveled that a hunter had spread across the

They were surprised that a hunter spread

horizons his snares, and caught a gazelle,

His snare in the horizons and caught a gazelle.

مِلءُ عَيني مَلاحَةً وَجَمالاً

مِلءُ عَيني مَلاحَةً وَجَمالاً

وَفُؤادي مَهابَةً وَجَلالا

وَفُؤادي مَهابَةً وَجَلالا

Filling my eye with loveliness and beauty,

My eyes are filled with softness and beauty,

And my heart with awe and majesty.

And my heart with awe and majesty,

فَاِعذِلوا فيهِ كَيفَ شِئتُم وَقولوا

فَاِعذِلوا فيهِ كَيفَ شِئتُم وَقولوا

قَد كَفى اللَهُ المُؤمِنينَ القِتالا

قَد كَفى اللَهُ المُؤمِنينَ القِتالا

So reproach me over him as you please, and say:

So blame it as you wish and say:

God has indeed spared the believers fighting.

God has sufficed the believers from fighting.
