لاlet ... not يَشمَتِgloat الأَعداءُthe enemies بِالمَوتِover death إِنَّناindeed we

Let not the enemies gloat over death, for we
The enemies shall not gloat at death, for we
shall leave them a watering place in death's arena.
Will leave them a place at the watering hole of death.
وَلاand do not تَحسَبَنَّever think المَوتَdeath عاراًa disgrace فَإِنَّناfor indeed we
رَأَيناwe have seen المَناياthe fates of death قَدalready أَصَبنَthey struck مُحَمَّداMuhammad
And never think death a disgrace, for we
And think not that death is a disgrace, for we
have seen death strike Muhammad.
Saw that death had struck Muhammad.
وَلاand let ... not يَحسِبِthink الأَعداءُthe enemies أَنَّthat مُصيبَتيmy calamity
أَكَلَّتhas blunted لَهُمfor them مِنّيof mine لِساناًa tongue وَلاnor يَداa hand
And let not the enemies think that my calamity
And let not the enemies think that my tragedy
has blunted either my tongue or my hand against them.
Has silenced my tongue or bound my hands.
تَتابَعَfollowed one another فيwithin عامٍa year بَنِيَّmy sons وَإِخوَتيand my brothers

My sons and my brothers followed one another in death within a year,
My sons and brothers follow one another in death
so I am left alone, unless God makes good my loss.
And I will be left with no one, unless God spares one.
