    فَكانَ جودُكَ مِن رَوحٍ وَرَيحانِ

    If you wish, you may follow one kindness with another;

Thus your bounty would consist of repose and sweet basil.

For, by my life, you have made water gush from a stone

Within a rocky hill, and bent the branch down for the fruit-picker.

So ask our Sulayman—may our souls ransom him—

O you whose Sulayman watches over my Sulayman.

And you are enough for him, yet his ambition is

To acquire, alongside Radwa, the mighty mountain Thahlan.

If it were a disgrace for one seeking favor to have

Two supports, no spear with two blades would be brandished,

Nor would a lion of battle be counted among the heroes,

With two coats of mail fastened on him on the morning of terror.
