I bear witness: you have indeed donned, Abu Sa‘id,
I bear witness, you have donned, O Abu Sa'eed
virtues that outshine the towering heights of honor.
The nature of lofty glory astounds
أُتَعتِعُI falter فيover الحَوائِجِthe requests إِنif خِفاقاًlight
أُتَعتِعُ في الحَوائِجِ إِن خِفاقاً

غَدَوتُ بِها عَلَيكَ وَإِن ثِقالا
Am I to falter over my requests, whether light
I shuffle about needy, though lightly I come to you
or heavy, when I bring them to you—
And heavily though I am burdened

now that you have raised my standing, and turned
Since you raised me from lowliness and returned
my scant means into wealth through the dew of your palms?
My bracelets - from the dew of your palms - to grace
بِفَضلِكَthrough your bounty صِرتُI became أَكثَرَهُمthe most among them عَطاءًin giving

Through your bounty I became the greatest giver among them,
By your grace, I have become most generous
and before you I was the one among them who asked the most.
Before you, I was most begging

So let not your heart be troubled by me, for I
