قراضة تبر في صفائح فضة

shavings of pure gold in plates of silver,

Gold filings within sheets of silver,

enclosed within a veined casket of onyx.

Enclosed by a casket of arrow-striped onyx.

إذا قطعت كانت سفائن لجه

وإن لم تقطع فهي عكم محزم

وإن لم تقطع فهي عكم محزم

When cut, it became ships upon the deep;

and if left uncut, it is a tightly strapped bale.
