لوجدي بمن يعزى اليه وينسب
And a kind of sweet whose name I only hint at,
because of my passion for the one to whom it is ascribed and attributed.
يصدقbears out معناهits meaning اسمهits name فكأنهso, as though it were
يصدق معناه اسمه فكأنه
بنانfingers بأطرافat the extremities of البناتthe maidens مخضبhenna-dyed
بنان بأطراف البنات مخضب
Its meaning bears out its name, as though it were
henna-dyed fingers at the ends of maidens’ hands.
