    ـرَ بِها سُمِّيَتْ قُرَيْشٌ قُرَيْشا

    And Quraysh is the one that dwells in the sea;

after it, Quraysh was named Quraysh.

Supreme in the depths of the sea, it unleashed

armies upon the inhabitants of the seas.

It devours the lean and the fat, and does not leave

a feather for a two-winged creature, on any day.

Such, among humankind, is the tribe of Quraysh:

they devour the lands with hissing voracity.

And they will have, at the end of time, a prophet

who brings much killing and many wounds among them.

His horses fill the earth, together with men

who drive the mounts together at a brisk pace.
