نُعَزّي أَميرَ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّداً

نُعَزّي أَميرَ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّداً

عَلى خَيرِ مَيتٍ غَيَّبَتهُ المَقابِرُ

عَلى خَيرِ مَيتٍ غَيَّبَتهُ المَقابِرُ

We offer condolences to Muhammad, Commander of the Faithful,

We console the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

We offer condolences to the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

for the finest of the dead whom the graves have hidden.

For the best of the dead whom the graves have hidden.

Upon the finest deceased whom the graves have ever concealed.

وَإِنَّ أَميرَ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّداً

وَإِنَّ أَميرَ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّداً

لَرابِطُ جَأشٍ لِلخُطوبِ وَصابِرُ

لَرابِطُ جَأشٍ لِلخُطوبِ وَصابِرُ

And indeed Muhammad, Commander of the Faithful,

Indeed the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

And indeed, the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

is surely steadfast of heart before calamities, and patient.

Is a pillar of steadfastness in calamities and patient.

Is steadfast of heart against calamities, and patient.

زَهَت بِأَميرِ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّدٍ

زَهَت بِأَميرِ المُؤمِنينَ مُحَمَّدٍ

أَسِرَّةُ مُلكٍ وَاستَقَرَّت مَنابِرُ

أَسِرَّةُ مُلكٍ وَاستَقَرَّت مَنابِرُ

With Muhammad, Commander of the Faithful, grew resplendent

With the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

The thrones of dominion have gloried in the Commander of the Faithful, Muhammad,

the thrones of kingship, and the pulpits stood firm.

Thesecrets of the kingdom became resplendent and the pulpits stable.

And the pulpits have settled firm.

فَلا زِلتَ لِلإِسلامِ عِزّاً وَناصِراً

فَلا زِلتَ لِلإِسلامِ عِزّاً وَناصِراً

كَما أَنتَ لِلإِسلامِ عِزٌّ وَناصِرُ

كَما أَنتَ لِلإِسلامِ عِزٌّ وَناصِرُ

So may you ever remain a source of strength and a champion for Islam,

You have always been a pillar of might and a helper of Islam,

So may you cease not to be a source of glory and aid for Islam,

as you are a source of strength and a champion for Islam.

Just as you are for Islam a pillar of might and helper.

Just as you are [now] for Islam a glory and an aid.

وَلا زِلتَ مَرعِيّاً بِعَينٍ حَفيظَةٍ

وَلا زِلتَ مَرعِيّاً بِعَينٍ حَفيظَةٍ

مِنَ اللَهِ لا تَسطو عَلَيكَ المَقادِرُ

مِنَ اللَهِ لا تَسطو عَلَيكَ المَقادِرُ

And may you ever be guarded by a watchful eye

And you have always been watchful with a protective eye

And may you remain watched over by a protective eye,

from God; may the decrees of fate never assail you.

From Allah - the fates have no power over you.

From God, so that harsh fates do not assail you.

تَسوسُ أَمورَ الناسِ تِسعينَ حِجَّةً

تَسوسُ أَمورَ الناسِ تِسعينَ حِجَّةً

وَهَديُكَ مَحمودٌ وَعِرضُكَ وافِرُ

وَهَديُكَ مَحمودٌ وَعِرضُكَ وافِرُ

May you govern the people's affairs for ninety years,

You manage the affairs of the people with ninety arguments,

May you govern the affairs of the people for ninety years,

with your conduct praised and your honor intact.

And your guidance is praiseworthy and your honor abundant.
