O you who ask God, you have attained victory,

    And pleasant bounty, not distress.

So turn in supplication to God, not to a mortal,

    Passing through decay and vicissitudes.

And turn in supplication to God, not to a body,

Passing from youth to old age.

Indeed, the One whose petitioner is never disappointed—

His essence is unlike the essence of mortals.

Why are you occupied with idle nonsense?

Is safety from Saqar in your hands?
