أَياO مَنthe One who لَيسَthere is not ليfor me مِنهُfrom Him مُجيرُa protector
بِعَفوِكَthrough Your pardon مِنfrom عَذابِكَYour punishment أَستَجيرُI seek refuge
O You, from whom no one can protect me,
O You from whom I have no protector
O You from whom I have no savior,
In Your pardon I seek refuge from Your punishment.
With Your pardon from Your torment I seek refuge
I seek refuge in Your pardon from Your punishment.
أَناI العَبدُthe servant المُقِرُّthe one who confesses بِكُلِّto every ذَنبٍsin
وَأَنتَand You السَيِّدُthe Master المَولىthe Lord الغَفورُthe All-Forgiving
I am the servant who acknowledges every sin,
I am the servant admitting to every sin
I am the servant who confesses every sin,
And You are the Master, the Lord, the All-Forgiving.
And You are the Lord, the Forgiving Master
And You are the Master, the Lord, the Forgiving.
فَإِنso if عَذَّبتَنيYou punish me فَبِسوءِthen for the evil of فِعليmy conduct
وَإِنand if تَغفِرYou forgive فَأَنتَthen You بِهِof it جَديرُworthy
So if You punish me, it is for my evil conduct;
So if You punish me, it is for my misdeed
If You punish me, it is for the evil of my deeds,
And if You forgive, that is befitting of You.
And if You forgive, You are worthy of it
And if You forgive, You are worthy of such grace.
أَفِرُّI flee إِلَيكَto You مِنكَfrom You وَأَينَand where إِلّاexcept
إِلَيكَto You يَفِرُّflees مِنكَfrom You المُستَجيرُthe seeker of refuge
I flee to You from You—and where else but
I flee to You from You, and where else
I flee to You from You; and where else
to You can the seeker of refuge flee from You?
Can one fleeing from You take refuge but in You
Does the seeker of refuge flee from You, if not to You?
