لَوif قَدindeed نَبَذتُI cast forth بِهِwith it إِلَيكَto you لَسَرَّكاit would surely delight you
Many a delightful tale I have for you;
How many a wondrous tale I have for you,
I possess so many wondrous tales for you,
Were I to cast it your way, it would delight you.
Had I but sent it forth, it would please you,
Which, were I to share, would surely delight you;
مِمّاof what يَزيدُincreases عَلىwith الإِعادَةِretelling جِدَّةًfreshness
غَضٌّfresh إِذاwhen خَلَقُthreadbare الحَديثِtalk أَمَلَّكاhas bored you
One that grows fresher with each retelling,
More novel than repetition, fresher still,
Tales that only increase in novelty with retelling,
Still fresh when threadbare talk has bored you.
When conversation's art does so compel,
Staying fresh when worn-out conversation bores you.
وَكَأَنَّنيand as though I بِكَwith you قَدalready شُغِفتَyou have become enthralled بِحُسنِهِby its beauty
فَخَطَطتَهُso you penned it حِرصاًout of eagerness عَلَيهِfor it بِكَفِّكاwith your hand
And I can picture you already enthralled by its beauty,
And I envision you enraptured by its charm,
I can just see you now, captivated by their beauty,
So you have penned it with your own hand, eager to preserve it.
Tracing it eagerly by your hand's calm,
Writing them down eagerly with your own hand,
تَتَبَّعُseek out الظُرَفاءُthe wits إِعجاباًin admiration بِهِof it

Admiring it, you seek out the wits,
Seeking its gems in wonder and delight,
Seeking out the refined to marvel at them,
Until you tell the one you love, and he laughs.
Relating it to those dear till laughter's height.
So you may tell your beloved, and make him laugh.
