سَأُعطيكِ الرِضا وَأَموتُ غَمّاً

سَأُعطيكِ الرِضا وَأَموتُ غَمّاً

وَأَسكُتُ لا أَغُمُّكِ بِالعِتابِ

وَأَسكُتُ لا أَغُمُّكِ بِالعِتابِ

I will give you satisfaction and die of grief.

I will give you contentment though dying of grief

I grant you contentment, though I die of sorrow,

And remain silent, not distressing you with reproach.

And keep silent, not grieving you with reproach

And keep my silence, lest I distress you with reproach.

عَهِدتُكِ مَرَّةً تَنوينَ وَصلي

عَهِدتُكِ مَرَّةً تَنوينَ وَصلي

وَأَنتِ اليَومَ تَهوَينَ اِجتِنابي

وَأَنتِ اليَومَ تَهوَينَ اِجتِنابي

I knew you once, when you intended union with me.

Once I knew you to intend joining with me

I knew you once, when you intended our union,

And today you desire to avoid me.

Yet today you crave avoiding me

Yet today, it is my avoidance that you desire.

وَغَيَّرَكِ الزَمانُ وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ

وَغَيَّرَكِ الزَمانُ وَكُلُّ شَيءٍ

يَصيرُ إِلى التَغَيُّرِ وَالذَهابِ

يَصيرُ إِلى التَغَيُّرِ وَالذَهابِ

Time has changed you, and everything

Time has changed you and all things

Time has changed you, for truly everything

Moves toward change and passing away.

Turn to change and passing

Is bound to change and eventual departure.

فَإِن كانَ الصَوابُ لَدَيكِ هَجري

فَإِن كانَ الصَوابُ لَدَيكِ هَجري

فَعَمّاكِ الإِلَهُ عَنِ الصَوابِ

فَعَمّاكِ الإِلَهُ عَنِ الصَوابِ

So if forsaking me seems right to you,

If it's right by you to forsake me

So if you deem it right to abandon me,

Then may God blind you to what is right.

Then may God blind you to what's right

Then may God blind you to what is right.
