مُعَقرَبُcurled like a scorpion الصُدغِthe temple-lock مَلبوسٌclad عَوارِضُهُhis cheeks
جِلبابُa robe خَزٍّsilk عَلَيهِupon it النَورُthe blossoms مَقطوفُplucked
His temple-lock curls like a scorpion; his cheeks are clad
The cheekbones' highlights adorned with their accessories
With temple-locks curled like scorpions, his cheeks are clothed in a robe of silk upon which blossoms are gathered,
in a silken robe, with plucked blossoms upon it.
A gown of silk on which light is threaded
Souls are revived by him on the facet of a gem, so you bear no fault if an obligation summons you,
تَحياcome alive النُفوسُthe souls بِهِthrough him فيon سَطحِthe surface جَوهَرَةٍa jewel
فَماso there is no عَلَيكَupon you إِذاwhen اِستَدعاكَhe summons you تَكليفُburden
Souls come alive through him on the surface of a jewel.
Souls live by it on the surface of a gem
The body of light enclosed the spirit and they mingled, within a visible form wherein souls and harmony reside,
So no burden falls on you when he summons you.
So why would you mind if duty calls upon you
For it crosses no imagination that he possesses an equal, nor is there anyone described in beauty who compares.
تَضَمَّنَcontained الروحَthe spirit جِسمُthe body النورِthe light فَاِمتَزَجاso the two mingled
فيin عارِضٍa cheek فيهِin it أَرواحٌspirits وَتَأليفُand harmony
The body of light contained the spirit, and the two mingled
The light's body harbored the soul so they blended
in a cheek where spirits and harmony reside.
In an accessory wherein spirits and composition dwell
فَلَيسَso it does not يَخطِرُoccur فيin الأَوهامِthe imaginings أَنَّthat لَهُhe has
عِدلاًan equal وَلَيسَand there is not لَهُfor him فيin الحُسنِbeauty مَوصوفُone described
So it never enters the imagination that he has
It cannot cross the mind that it has
an equal; none can be described as his match in beauty.
An equal, nor in beauty can it be described
