اِشرَبdrink وَسَقِّand give a drink to الحَبيبَthe beloved ياO ساقيcupbearer
وَسَقِّنيand give me to drink فَضلَthe remainder of كَأسِهِhis cup الباقيremaining
Drink and give the beloved a drink, O cupbearer.
Drink and serve the beloved, O cupbearer
Drink, and pour for the beloved, O cupbearer,
And give me what remains in his cup.
And serve me what remains of his cup
And serve me the rest of his remaining cup.
وَسَقِّهِand give him to drink فَضلَthe remainder of ماwhat أُخَلِّفُهُI leave it behind
فيin الكَأسِthe cup عَمداًdeliberately بِغَيرِwithout إِشفاقِconcern
And give him what I leave behind
And serve him what I deliberately leave
Then serve him the remnant that I leave behind,
In the cup deliberately, without concern.
In the cup, without regret
Left within the goblet by design, unsparingly.
أَشرَبُI drink مِنfrom فَضلِهِhis leftovers وَيَشرَبُand he drinks مِنfrom
فَضليmy leftovers كَذاthus فِعلَthe practice of كُلِّevery مُشتاقِone who yearns
I drink from what he leaves, and he drinks from
I drink from his remainder and he drinks from
I drink from his surplus, and he drinks from mine—
What I leave—such is the way of every yearning lover.
My remainder, so has done every lover
Such is the deed of every yearning lover.
