And one of wondrous beauty has surpassed

the gazelle fawn in beauty and softness.

You would think the rose upon his cheeks

    is cooing to the jasmine.

    Whenever I gave him more

of my gaze, my madness grew.

    He kept serving us wine

that had dwelt in the curtained chamber for years.

    And we sang with skill:

"O dwellings of those who have gone away!"

So give us drink until the time of the

pilgrimage; do not give drink to the miser.
