عُبَيدكَ يا تواب جاءك عائذاً

Your little servant, O Accepter of repentance, has come to You seeking refuge,

Your humble servant, O Accepter of repentance, has come to You seeking refuge.

Bearing sin—so pardon all that he has borne.

He has borne a sin; so pardon what he has borne.

وجد بمتاب يا عفو ورحمة

وجد بمتاب يا عفو ورحمة

على عبد سوء طالما عنك اغفلا

على عبد سوء طالما عنك اغفلا

Be bountiful in accepting repentance, O Pardoner and Mercy,

And grant repentance, O Pardoner, and mercy

Toward an erring servant who so long remained heedless of You.

ببابك يدعو يا بصيراً بحاله

فاوسع له يا واسع الفضل مجزلا

At Your door he calls, O You who see his condition;

So lavish upon him, O boundless in grace, a generous bounty.

So grant him abundance, O Boundless in bounty, giving lavishly.

أتيت ذنوباً يا غفور فكن لها

وقد تبت منها يا حليم مبدلا

وقد تبت منها يا حليم مبدلا

I have committed sins, O All-Forgiving—so be the One

I have committed sins, O All-Forgiving; so be the One

Who changes them to good, for I have repented of them, O Forbearing One.

تعرضت وهناً يا رؤوف لرأفة

تعرضت وهناً يا رؤوف لرأفة

تجود بها يا شاكراً متقبلا

تجود بها يا شاكراً متقبلا

In weakness I have presented myself, O Compassionate One, for a mercy

In weakness I have sought, O Compassionate One, compassion

You may bestow, O Appreciative One who accepts.

that You bestow, O Appreciative and Accepting One.

وإن أوحشتني يا الهي خطيئتي

وإن أوحشتني يا الهي خطيئتي

فأنس رجائي فيك يا واحد انجلى

فأنس رجائي فيك يا واحد انجلى

Though my sin has left me desolate, my God,

And if my sin has left me desolate, O my God,

The solace of my hope in You, O One, has dawned.

فكن راضياً لي يا شكور تنسكي

فكن راضياً لي يا شكور تنسكي

فطوبى لمن تولي الرضا والتقبلا

So be pleased with me, O Appreciative One, and with my devotion;

Blessed is the one whom You grant approval and acceptance.

وزدني خضوعاً فيك يا متكبراً

إذا حط قدري الناس أعلاه فاعتلى

Increase my humility before You, O Supremely Great;

And increase my humility before You, O Supremely Majestic One;

If people lower my standing, You raise it, and it soars.

ويا غافر الذنب اغفر الذنب والخطا

وإن كان وزراً يقصم الظهر مثقلا

O Forgiver of sin, forgive my sin and my errors,

And O Forgiver of sin, forgive sin and error,

Even if they are a burden that breaks the back with its weight.

أتاك بها عبد جنى فتنصلا

O Accepter of repentance, accept the repentance

Brought to You by a servant who sinned, then renounced his sin.

وهذا مرامي يا كريم ومقصدي

وما خاب من أم الكريم وأملا

وما خاب من أم الكريم وأملا

This, O Generous One, is my aim and my desire;

And this is my aim, O Generous One, and my purpose.

Whoever seeks the Generous One and hopes in Him is never disappointed.

And no one who seeks the Generous One and hopes is disappointed.
