    You have pledged, O Provider, to grant sustenance [unconditionally],

    Without reckoning, whether abundant or scant.

    وإلا فما في الرزق تبديل قسمة

    So striving for sustenance is nothing but reliance on You;

    Otherwise, no allotted share of sustenance can be changed.

    You have guaranteed it to Your creatures according to their need,

    Along the paths of means, each toward its own course.

    And You have prepared the means of obtaining it in ways

    Made easy, according to differences in livelihood.

    ولكنه تدبير لطف وحكمة

    And You have not made these means the cause of their sustenance;

    Rather, it is an arrangement of kindness and wisdom.

    My God, my certainty in Your guarantee is my mainstay,

    And Your bounty, O best of providers, is my reserve.

    And for my sustenance, it is enough that You stand surety

    For it, before I stretch out my palm in supplication.

    And the servant's asking is a duty, while God brings about

    What He has chosen of ease and hardship for a servant.

    And each creature sustained in this universe seeks its provision,

    Turning to You, and receives in full what divine lordship guarantees.

    And what recourse has the distressed for sustenance, other than what

    You have opened up through supplication and a means of approach?

    بفيض اسمك الرزاق وسع معيشتي

    So, Provider of the raven chick, I do not call upon You in misery;

    Through the outpouring of Your name, the Provider, expand my livelihood.
